What we do with the information you send us, who else sees it, and how to get it removed. Version 1.0 · 6 August 2026.
Who is responsible
We are a small marine engineering company. The only personal data we collect through this website is what you type into the enquiry form. We use it to answer you. We do not sell it, we do not build profiles from it, and there is no advertising on this site.
What we hold
Your name, email address, the area you are interested in, your vessel or company if you give it, and your message.
Name, email and message are required. The rest is optional — leave it blank if you would rather not.
Whatever you choose to put in the email, plus your address and anything your own mail provider attaches to it.
Our host records standard access data such as IP address, browser and pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
Why we are allowed to
We do not send marketing emails. If that ever changes we will ask you first, and every message will carry an unsubscribe link.
This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. There is nothing to consent to, which is why you have not been shown a banner.
Who else sees it
Netlify hosts this website and handles the enquiry form. Your submission is stored in our Netlify account and emailed to us. Netlify is a US company, so your data may be processed outside the UK — those transfers are covered by the standard contractual clauses and the UK addendum in Netlify’s data processing agreement.
Our pages load a typeface from Google’s font servers, which means your IP address is visible to Google when the page loads. No cookie is set. We are looking at serving the font from our own domain to remove this.
We do not sell personal data, share it with advertisers, or pass it to anyone else — other than a sub-contractor or supplier where that is genuinely necessary to carry out work you have asked us to do, or where the law requires it.
How long
Deleted within 24 months of the last contact.
Kept with the job records for six years after the end of the contract, in line with our terms and our tax and company obligations.
Kept only for as long as our host retains them, typically a matter of weeks.
Your rights
Email ewan@mcintyremarine.com and we will deal with it within one month. There is no charge.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator, at any time.
We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right, but you do not have to.
If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and change the version and date at the top. Our Terms & Conditions sit alongside this notice and govern the work itself.
